Organised and run through YATF using industry leading companies we arrange half and full day conferences and seminars for IT and Non-IT Students, covering both insights into working in the tech industry as well as ‘next steps’ topics like CV writing, interview sitting, and corporate culture.
We love to talk about how there’s never been a better time to get into IT but we're also not unrealistic in our representation of what its like to work in the industry. Which is why we spend time helping young adults prepare for work in the form of CV writing, mock interviews, and corporate culture presentations and workshops - where we talk about the work ethic, enthusiasm and commitment.
Whilst we don’t want to underplay the importance and significance of ‘coding,’ we do want to highlight just how many careers there are in the IT Industry that aren’t ‘technical.’ That’s why we go out to schools, colleges, and parent groups to present a more holistic view of the IT industry, to show them that even if they don’t have the aptitude for coding there’s still a large number of opportunities available to them.
Through our industry connections, sponsors, and partners we arrange work experience placements for young adults where they get to see what it’s like to work in the IT industry.
A lot of the schools and colleges we talk to feel a great way of inspiring and motivating their students is to have them visit IT companies, to see what its like to work there... We couldn’t agree more.
Whilst we aren’t a careers or apprenticeship company we do attend school and college Fairs as a representative for the IT industry as well as our partners and sponsors. This is a great way of interacting with young adults.
We recognise the important role teachers play in our young adults lives and so we run a National IT Teachers Conference annually as a way of bringing them up to speed with current trends, technologies, and skills gaps in the IT Industry.
